Boarders live in homely, comfortable bedrooms, often sharing with one or two other boarders, and occasionally in a single bedroom. Each bedroom is furnished, and boarders are welcome to personalise their space so that it is a true home-away-from-home.

All boarders have access to house kitchens, common rooms and other facilities around the school during evenings, weekends, and half-term holidays. Twice-weekly laundry is provided on-site, and medical care is also available.

There is a varied and exciting program of weekend and holiday trips which boarders are welcome to take part in and to help organise through regular student voice opportunities. Popular trips include city visits to Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Oxford, Cambridge etc., as well as active events such as Go-Karting and Quad Biking. We also provide a more sedate and cultural experience with canal boating, museum visits and local countryside walks.

Every evening the school Sports Hall is open for boarders to play badminton, basketball, football or other activities. Borders can also make use of dedicated art and music facilities at school to help prepare for exams or just to relax. The local town provides a world-class gym, golf course, sports fields, cinema and shops, and boarders are able to make use of these exceptional facilities outside the school campus with parental permission.

Each house is staffed by house parents, a matron, and resident and non-resident tutors.  The Head of Boarding is always available for both students and parents.
