Gold Crest Colloquium at Harper Adams University

29 September 2021

Over the summer holidays Heather and Evan from Year 13 took part in the Gold Crest award. This involved them working with scientists and researchers from Harper Adams University for two weeks -  conducting research and analysing their results.

Wednesday was the opportunity to share their work and findings with other participants of the Award and their supervisors, as well as other researchers and scientists from the university.

Heather researched the effect of galactooligosaccharides and the risk of fatty liver syndrome in pigs. Evan spent his time researching the effect of tilling and traffic types on soil and crop characteristics.

For his work Evan was runner up for the 'Mark Robinson Award', which is awarded for excellent research skills.

It was truly inspirational to see these two young scientists show off their skills and present their research in a professional and confident way. They have both done Chase Grammar and the Science Department proud.
